A "big-4" Hedge Fund Partnership Tax team was under pressure to deliver a client-facing web application to remain competitive in the market. A solution was already in development but confidence in launching in time for the tax season was low. A new solution based on the IBM BPM platform was built by Apex in just a few weeks to go live by the end of the year.
The Hedge Fund team had already developed a new application for their team to perform tax calculations. They needed a Client Portal to allow upload of information to support the tax preparation process and provide visibility into the progress of deliverables. IBM BPM provided the process model for the overall partnership tax preparation process and gave the visibility that clients needed.
Apex led Envisioning sessions to define the concepts and overall design of the Hedge Fund Client Portal. Apex took responsibility for the development of the application by establishing an agile team, with a product owner from the firm to provide and validate requirements. The team used IBM BPM and Apex Coach Views and developed the application in a series of 1-week sprints. The application was successfully delivered in time for the tax season.
